Brief History
Magarini Secondary School is the centre of excellence in Magarini Constituency in Kilifi County.
It’s located about 30 kilometres from Malindi town across the sabaki bridge. The students come from all walks of life, poor and rich alike. It has a very unique interesting beginning. The old existing buildings were built during Australlian sponsored resettlement scheme. It was the General investigation Station(G. I. S) used for Agricultural research.
Later after the completion, the Magarini settlement scheme was taken by the UNHCR and Red Cross as a refugee camp for the Somalians in the early 1990s before they were moved to Kakuma and Daadab. It’s location gives a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning activities. The School sits on an acreage approximately 60 acres of land. We have ample land for agricultural activities and future development.
The school is proud to have a team of dedicated teachers, students, subordinate staff members and PTA/BOG members that has led to its excellence in academics and co-curricular activities. The school has a capacity of 450 students; some of who are day scholars and boarders. The School has a dedicated staff of 20 teachers of both gender.
