Mzee Augustine Mumma Odongo who had an idea to empower girl child through education started the school in 1998. The school was started to cater for needy but bright girls from the community.
It opened its doors to the first group of 40 students the same year with the first acting principal being Mr.Charles Anang’a Okollo. The school through partnership with Terre Des Homes (TDH) put in place facilities that enabled the school to be what it is today. TDH purchased the following for the school:
Science equipments for chemistry
Drama and games facilities
Built and furnished science library
Build a library, home science room among others things.
Thanks to the Terre Des Homes may God bless you abundantly. The school registered as a public day double-streamed school in 2003. We also specially thank the Kenyan Government who have funded the school greatly by paying the teachers and funding other school projects.
To-date the school has grown as the number of students has reached averagely 370 girls.
The school has excelled in various areas in 2007 it managed to reach the provincial level in volleyball.
Drama has also excelled very well in the competition.
Currently the school has 14 TSC employed teachers and two teachers employed by the board.
Sigoti Complex Girls is found in Ramogi Location, Upper Nyakach Division, Nyakach District, Kenya Africa.
