Ogongo Secondary School was established in the year 2005 to respond to the needs of an area with eleven primary schools. The school admits students with the majority of students who are needy as 67% of the population is either partial or total orphan. Even those with their parents it is evident that they are sick of HIV/AIDS. The school opened its doors with a population of 23 students among whom were seven girls. To date the population has risen to 482 students i.e 179 girls and 303 boys; in only five years down the line.
The school is currently registered as a double streamed school; registration number is GP/A.5655/08.
