Milestones

* 1954 – Incorporated in East Africa as a branch of Oxford University Press
* 1976 – Launched into local publishing
* 1981 – Published the first edition of Kamusi ya Kiswahili Sanifu
* 1999 – Published Guidance and Counseling to help teachers and parents to proactively support students in character development and career choices
* 1999 – Published Insha: Hatua kwa Hatua for teachers and students to effectively handle Kiswahili compositions
* 2000 – Rapidly grew English and Kiswahili readers by publishing 17 captivating titles such as Healer of Soles, Signs of Ageing, Kitumbua Kimeingia Mchanga, Arrested by a Police Dog, etc
* 2001 – Expanded regional market to publish local Social Studies books for Uganda
* 2002 – Further expanded to locally publish English teaching books for Zambian primary schools
* 2003 – Broke ground to publish in French with 22 primary readers
* 2003 – Launched the New African Readers  a children’s series that captures the socio-political history of different African countries
* 2006 – launched the Q&A revision series for primary school pupils
* 2006 – launched the Test it & Fix it revision series for secondary school students
* 2008 – launched Face to Face, a unique workbook-cum-revision series for students at all primary levels to sharpen their grasp of content in all subjects
* 2009 – launched Mastering PTE series, high quality practical teacher-development books.
