Digital Essay Competition (DEC)
As part of eKitabu’s mission to use digital content to achieve transformative educational outcomes, eKitabu invites all Upper Primary and Secondary Schools from all public and private schools to register and submit their essays online at essay.ekitabu.com.
Benefits of DEC
- Encourages students to develop and use digital technology
- Enhances creativity and critical thinking amongst students
- Gives students an opportunity to reflect on how best they can use technology to enhance their education.
Now in its third annual running the Digital Essay Competition has awarded over 3.6 Million Kenya Shillings to winning students, teachers, and schools. Teachers are encouraged to register their students as well as their schools, with prizes available both for students and teachers.
Any Upper Primary (From 5 – 8) or Secondary School students Form 1 – 4) in Kenya can enter the Essay Contest. Students from public and private schools are welcome to participate.
Students are to submit an essay of between 500 and 800 words on the topic given that year.
