Sigor High School was started in 1965 as a harambee school. 1969, the school was taken over by the government. In 1970, it became a double stream mixed secondary school.
In 1987, it became a three-streamed mixed school but in 2004, the girls were phased out and the school became a three-streamed boarding boys’ school to date.
The student population as at 6/4/2011 is 580 students
